Our History
The God given vision for New Birth Christian Ministries was birthed through Pastor Kenneth E. Moore, Sr., and was established on the word of God, without denominational barriers.

The first meeting for New Birth Christian Ministries was held on January 16, 1997. The original members included Kenneth and Charlotte Moore, Irving and Yvonne Gray, DeRell and Trina Sills, Doris Roberts, Lee Solomon, Carolyn Solomon, Lurlene Moore, Walter (Matt) and Mary Seward.

The first service was held on Sunday, February 2, 1997 at the Far East Recreation Center and services later moved to the Big Walnut Shelter House. On Sunday, October 5, 1997, New Birth Christian Ministries moved into a facility located at 2758 Bulen Avenue, which allowed time for services during the week in addition to Sunday.

The ministry had grown to approximately 350 members when the church moved into another location at 3599 E. Refugee Rd. God continued to add to the ministry, which would eventually lead to the purchase of the current location at 3475 E. Refugee Rd., in October 2003. With a membership of approximately 1,000 people, Sunday morning worship, in what is now considered the “old sanctuary”, had to be divided into two service times.

In 2006, construction for the “New” sanctuary began, now the “Main” sanctuary, Sunday morning worship is still divided into two services as the congregation has now grown to over 2,400 members.
